Bartons manufactures a wide range of traditional pickles, sauces and chutneys
under the "Bartons" brand name as well as some products with customer's
own labels. New products, such as Spreadable Piccalilli are increasingly being
developed and launched.
Bartons flexibility, seen in product mix, packaging size range (180g to 18Kg)
and desire to work collaboratively with customers, has yielded the launch of a
number of products which act as constituents in or accompaniments for customer's
own product offerings. |

The original family recipe is
still used to make Bartons Piccalilli. It is a unique combination of a special
smooth, glossy mustard and turmeric sauce combined with freshly chopped onions
and cauliflower florets. It tastes delicious!
The founder of Bartons, Edmund Barton first developed our current Piccalilli recipe
in 1905. It's great taste and popularity is a testament to its longevity. Piccalilli
is perfect with cheese, meats, sandwiches and rolls. It also makes a great accompaniment
to ploughman's lunches. Try it with crackers as a healthy low fat snack. |

Because of the high quality of
the ingredients they use, the Barton family has always used clear vinegar in Mixed
Pickles to show off the crisp onions, cauliflower florets and gherkin pieces.
The Mixed Pickles are still hand selected to produce attractive layering of the
vegetables.
Mixed Pickles are great with salads, barbecued food and Lancashire Cheese.

Pickled Onions are the pickle
lover's favorite, and are available in a range of vinegar mixes, from the pure
taste of clear vinegar, to the richness of spiced malt vinegar. Pickled Onions
are the prefect party food and Christmas would not be the same without them. Pickled
Onions are not just for celebrations, they also make and ideal health snack, as
they are virtually fat free. |

Traditional Lancashire Hot Pots
and Stews are not complete without a Pickled Red Cabbage accompaniment. Its piquancy
and crispness really brings out the flavour of the food.

Bartons Sliced Beetroot is tender
yet crisp; sharp and yet sweet. It livens up salads or creates an alternative
great dimension to meat or cheese sandwiches, or as an alternative to Red Cabbage
with Hot Pots and Stews. |
